Liz and Marie came on the 2nd and we worked on Liz's tee shirt quilt
Drum roll for the boys!

Kevin's car died and the children were sick with coughs and runny noses.
He borrowed Dad's Buick until the car situation can be figured out.

My Mom Stella Little 10-15-27. 121515

Stella Little 101527-121515:
“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
Proverbs 31:28-31 NIV

What a wonderful legacy to have these verses describe your life!  Your mom's funeral blessed us!  I wish I had known her.  Watching your family honor your mom in such a beautiful way, made me wake up this morning really missing my mom.  So I spent some time looking at pictures of my mom's last Christmas and her birthday the day after and now my heart is overflowing in love and the tears are flowing.  How blessed we are, Karen, to have had moms that taught us what is really important in life. I love you. Sony Thayer

"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."  Miss you Grandma Stella.  Your life embodied the above scripture.  Rest in heavenly peace.  Ian Patterson

Isaiah 45:3
And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness-secret riches.
I will do this so that you may know that I am the LORD.
The God of Israel.
The one who calls you by name.

"We can mine great things from the dark times in our lives--things that may not be discovered any other way. Things like irrepressible hope, unsurpassable peace, inexplicable joy, unfailing comfort, divine endurance, and amazing grace. In Isaiah, God calls these secret riches. How will we discover these treasures lying hidden in the darkness of our trials if we're always ....trying desperately to avoid any testing, suffering, or pain?"
(from It's No Secret by Rachel Olson)

As 2015 approached the end of its time, Leora lost her much beloved mother Stella. This is a big family. Stella had six siblings, as did her husband Sheldon. She bore five children, had fourteen grand kids, and eight great grands. All these and many more came together on a cold December morn to celebrate Stella's life and goodness. With Leora on piano and 15 minutes practice our sons Michael and Ian got up in front of all these wonderful people to sing a song. It’s now a powerful mental image that will last long after the year has passed. These two young men, both having recently struggled through dark times but now standing tall, saying goodbye to their grandmother, pitch perfect, with Amazing Grace.

Blessings,

Larry and Leora

This statue shows a Christian woman who is old at death's door. As she passes from this life to the next, she is no longer sick or old and does not carry the burdens of this mortal life. She is welcomed by her Savior into eternal life whole and strong to live forever in heaven. What a promise, what joy unspeakable!
“When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:54-58 NIV

"The biggest thing in today's sorrow is the memory of yesterday's joy"
